Peer Pressure
We always give the excuse,
"It was peer pressure that caused me to... ..."
- Smoke
- Steal
- Lie
- Have sex
- Cut
- Tattoo myself (which I still think is something one would only derive short-term benefits from and will regret in the long-term)
Take your pick.
The list is endless.
Now...
What about saying the opposite for a change?
"It was peer pressure that made me NOT...."
- Smoke
- Steal
- Lie
- Have sex
- Cut
- Tattoo myself (oh silly ye who will regret when your body starts to lose it's fight with gravity)
I think I identify more with the latter.
Is this whole 'peer pressure' issue a conformist thing?
A 'follow the norm', 'be part of the majority' thing?
One thing though...
If people think the action is negative...
It's all due to peer pressure...
If the action is deemed positive...
It was thanks to support from peers...
Now...
Tell me that's not biased.
